Ziv's Backstory Chapter 5

When I woke up the next morning, Mom wasn't on the table anymore. She was gone, forever. And I couldn't believe it.

Please, just let this be a dream... But I knew it wasn't. Mom was really gone. And I was really going to be stuck here forever.

"I see that you're awake." I heard my dad's voice say. I looked up and realized he was standing over me. "She's finally gone." He sighed happily, "And now it's just me and my son."

Now I wasn't just mad. I was amazingly, terribly, terrifyingly furious. And I was going to kill something.

And then I couldn't see anything. Everything just went black. I had no idea what was going on. And I couldn't control myself.

"Ziv... You're eyes... they're turning black..." I heard my fathers voice. And then I heard screams and crying.

What the hell... What's going on? Why can't I move? Why cant I speak?

Because you've gained your own strength, Ziv.

Was that my mom's voice...?

Mom? Is that you? I felt so stupid talking to myself...

I'm a figment of your imagination. I'm whoever you want me to be. And you want me to be your mother, so I'm taking the form of your mother.

But then my vision came back. I wasn't hooked to the table anymore. The chains were broken. Blood was all over the place, as were dead bodies of scientists. I was the one who did this somehow.

And I couldn't have been more satisfied with myself.

One of the walls had been destroyed and I could see the outside. I jumped through a gaping hole and began to run to my dad's voot. I couldn't just run around irk with the military after me. I had to go to another planet, and fast. And the worst part was, space doesn't have oxygen, so I couldn't just use my wings to fly there.

And my dad was still alive and he was dashing after me. I ran as fast as I could, pounding on the voot. Suddenly, the top began to open. Lucky me.

I jumped into the voot, pressing buttons.

Oh yeah. One more thing.

I have no idea how to drive a voot.

The top closed as soon as I hit one of the buttons. I hit the large red one and the jet started. I felt the voot cruiser lifting up into the air. I looked out of the window to see my father and two guards, shouting and cursing up at me. The voot took off quickly, and they were out of sight.

And I was finally free.
